So 10 mL love is an adaptation of some Shakespeare’s play, but as I have not seen the play, I am in position to give the most honest feedback. The strength of 10 ml love lies in the flawless performance and timings of the each and every actor. And not to mention, no good-for- nothing songs and how the director has handled the comic plot and not letting it go in the not-so-funny (don’t read sick) buffoonery that has become quite pervasive in Bollywood today (don’t read Akshay Kumar’s all recent movies).
The plot consists of 2 stories running parallel. Ghalib , who sells those roadside medicines claiming to cure the “gupt rog”, is obsessed by the thought that his wife is having an extra-marital affair. Roshni, his wife, knows that and is constantly irritated by his habits of following her. The other plot is of Shweta who is in love with mechanic Peter. Shweta is being married to Neil , who in turn is love of Mini. Enough confusion already? The first part of the movie is more or less the introduction to various characters and their stories.
These stories intermingle when Roshni is invited for Mehendi to Neil and Shweta’s wedding and Ghalib , in order to win the trust of his wife, crashes into the wedding with “Josh-e-Jawani” potion (now you have your 10 ml love). Though the plot from here is quite predictable, but it stills holds you on due to comic nature of the situations that follow.
As I already said, the movie is a true comedy based on pure performances without any slapstik humour or cheap dialogues. Some of the scene shots are very emotional too, such as when Neil goes to Shweta to confess about his love for Mini or the last scene where Ghalib confesses to Roshni about his behaviour.
Any Flaws in the muvee – a side plot of Manu Rishi and gang (the caterers for the wedding) , though it was humorous,it had no connection with the main story at all. And the biggest flaw that you will only come to know , the small length :D This is one of those rare times, when you want to enjoy more and certainly don’t want the muvee to end. But I think not going into a full 3 hour saved the comic essence of the film. However, some of the scenes, such as the last one, could have been extended for the movie to sink in more.
Final Verdict – Go for it to if you have had enough of cheap humour.
